Self-control given by the Spirit is not the self mastering the self but the self giving up self-reliance, placing the reins of life in the Spirit’s hands so that both indulgence and rigid willpower give way to dependence on a greater strength.
Affirmation
Today, I release the illusion that I can master myself through any effort of my own. I entrust my impulses, thoughts, and desires to the Spirit, allowing His strength to govern my life.
