Most Catholics believe that God is just sitting up in Heaven, frowning down at us. They believe that when they pray to the virgin Mary, Mary goes to Jesus and asks Him to do this. They believe she has to plead with Jesus not to just destroy us from the face of the planet. But that's not true. God LOVES us, and wants to give us good things. But there are some Catholics that truly are real Christians.

Catholic and Christianity for the most part are NOT the same thing. Some Catholics aren't religious, like most of my friends in school, and the Catholics that are religious pray to saints and apostles instead of just God himself. Some also pray to the priest instead of exactly to God. Some Catholics do, however, share the same beliefs as regular Christians and they accept Jesus Christ as their savior, and some do not, it all depends on the person and their culture background, so you can't label specifically the differences between Catholics and Christians, but more likely than not there are some sort of difference between the two. So you should ask him and figure out exactly how close his relationship is with God :)

well, i know that Catholic people think that only preists can talk to God, and they have to tell the priest what they want to tell God. and they have a certain prayer that they pray over every meal,a nd they pray to Mary, Jesus's mom, and they pray to saints and apostles, and not all of them are necisarilly Christians, i know one of my dads friends is catholic, but he acepted Jesus into his heart, but i guess it depends if the guy is a really loyal Catholic, or only because thats what his family and freinds were brought up in, if not, maybe you can share things about Christiananity with him, and how he can talk to God PERSONALLY, and how he doesnt have to have certain prayers at special times, ect, maybe you can serch the internet for differences, like Google it or something, im not sur e but ill b praying!
