Purity rings : I want to remain pure!

Hey!

I recently made the vow of purity and would like to share it with you girls! ; )

What is it?

It's a promise to God, to your dad (he is supposed to help you guard your purity) and to yourself that you will remain a virgin and wait for the one God chose for you. It's also a way to say that Jesus is the n°1 man in your life! It's not a must but getting your Dad's benediction is better for the simple reason that God tells you to honor your parents... ; )

Who is it for?

It doesn't matter if you 12, 18 or 25, as long as your promise is serious matured and you are willing to certify that your body is the temple of God, it's for anyone! :D

What is the ring for?

Well...it's just a simple visual reminder of your vow! ^^

So...anyway, any ring can stand for a purity ring! Doesn't matter if "true love waits" or a heart/cross is on it or not , it's your ring, your choice!

Mine is a very simple silver ring with an engraving inside: "I'm worth waiting for Ps.25.11" PS 25.11 was originally a mistake but suited perfectly my state of mind : "for the Honor of Your name O lord, forgive my many many sins." So, it's basically a one of a kind ring...but a lot of people do believe i'm married or comitted! (yes, you wear it on the wedding ring finger!) ; )

Comment by Evangeline Colarossi on October 18, 2012 at 4:19pm: I dont have a purity RING yet but when my older sister got hers for Christmas one year (hers was silver and an unopened rose) my parents gave me a purity LOCKET since i was 8-9urs odl at the time :) i still odnt have a purity ring, and i dont kno whwen i will get one, but my mom and dad gave me the locket saying it was a symbol to gaurd my heart from evil. I have to say i dont really kno whwat that means :\But my mom told me the other day (when i first wore the locket in YEARS since i finally found a strong enough chain) she said "you better check your heart" cause i was being really grumpy and not very Godgirl like :( i realize im not doing a very good job gaurding my heart from evil :(

Comment by Kathleen Adams on July 31, 2012 at 5:54am: I am remaining pure till marriage and shall ask my dad to buy me a purity ring for my birthday though I think this will be a novelty to him as he thinks I won't make it and that It really doesn't matter anyway. I couldn't disagree more and want to get one as a sign to everyone my promise to God as well as to my dad to show him my commitment to God (sadly he doesn't have any to much faith) and eventually to prove to him that I did uphold my promise.

It is silver with an open heart in the middle, with my grandma's diamond on the inner corner of the heart. It is beautiful! My 17 year old sister lost hers, and I haven't lost mind!

@Roxanne: I really encourage you in your decision, Go for it!!! Being pure is not something that you should kinda hide , it's has a great value, a tresor that most of the girls of our world don't have for the simple reason that you can't buy it ! ; ) Have you started looking for one yet?

Up until now, I have always thought purity rings were cool but I always thought I didn't NEED one to remind myself to remain pure. I still believe that but I would like to proclaim it to the world. I want to take a step further into remaining pure I guess...
