I was browsing through some of the blog posts, seeing what I'd missed since I was on here last (that was a looooooong time ago), and I came across a poem, written by Sarah Katherine Weaver. I really like it - you're a really good writer! Definitely try to get it published!
Anyway, Sarah, it made me decide to post one of my own. I write a few poems, but this is the only religious-based one so far (the rest are just about my life and stuff like that) :)
It's called "Wanting More of the Truth":
The way the world looks at things,
The way we are taught to see,
Can blind each and every one of us
To the truth that would set us free.
Some of us are raised with it,
Whereas others learn it late.
But despite this, we all get in
To Heaven through one Gate.
That Gate is Jesus Christ our Lord,
In whom we will always believe.
He was the Word that became flesh,
After God made Adam and Eve.
If you admit with your mouth
And believe that Jesus is Lord,
You will learn that God is love
And He deserves to be adored.
The Holy Spirit helps us to grow,
And we help God to save the others
So that we may live in fellowship
With our Father, sisters and brothers.
In the beginning was the Word,
Which shows us who to live for.
It strengthens us and calms us
And it always leaves us wanting more.
Sorry the spacing's weird, I copied it from Word :)
So, what do you think? :)

Comment by Lisi on September 9, 2012 at 7:58pm I really like it! The wording is super cool. I've written two poems this summer [one a couple months ago and the other a few nights ago] and they're both ones that link to God in the end. The newest one I wasn't planning on it, but that just shows God's awesomeness :).
