Lately, I have started going to my friend's church. I love going with her because you know everyone! So when people come up to me and start asking what church I go to, they almost can't believe it. I go to Northside Christian Church, but my friend on the other hand goes to a Baptist church. (I honestly don't understand the difference!)
So one time, I was at her house just talking about music and school and stuff like that, when she randomly asks me why I go to the church I am going to. (I never really knew why I went to that church other than the fact that I have been going there ever since I could remember) So that is what I told her. Then she started to tell me how my church doesn't teach us anything about the Bible... Then she started asking me all these questions about the Bible. Originally, my family doesn't go to church every Sunday, just on holidays.
So when she is asking me all these questions, I finally tell her that I only go on holidays and stuff... Then she tries to explain how her church is better than ours and how you actually get a lesson out of her church (which is true) But when I try to explain to her how I also learn about Jesus and the Bible at my church, she just claims that she has went to my church before and how she didn't like it all that much.
Basically, what I am trying to ask is, how can I convince her that I should have my own opinion? I mean I have tried multiple times to tell her... but she always sticks with the same reasons. I want to express my own opinion to her lightly but I don't want it to tear apart our friendship...

Lena: Our church shows it from the Bible.
Comment by Haley G. Zachry on July 19, 2012 at 9:00am Maybe you should tell your friend that her church is pretty great but if you still want to go to your church sometimes that should be up to you. Or you could invite her to your church sometimes so she can see how they teach there. I myself have gone to a lot of different types and denominations of churches, so I know that they all teach differently. Maybe your friend is just not familiar with the way that your church teaches, but if she's exposed to it she'll understand!
Comment by Lena Elizabeth on July 19, 2012 at 4:15am How does your church present the Gospel, Hannah? Do they show it from the Bible? I myself have been going to a Baptist church all my life, but I was just wondering. I'm not trying to be pushy or anything.
