Am I embarrased of my purity ring?

Girls, I believe that purity until marriage is the ultimate way to a quality marriage! That sounded kind of silly but think about it. I am looking for a good chritian man with a good heart that doesn't see sex as the only way to a great relationship. I want a man that will wait until marriage, that WANTS to wait until marriage. Okay, now I need advice and encouragement. My family never practiced abstinence. My friends don't practice it. No one I know practices abstinence. In fact, I am the one my friends run to when they end up with some guy. Now, my roomate did not know about my purity promise. She bragged on and on about the guys she had a one night stand with the night before, all the guys texting her, and all of her crazy stories. No one seems to ever notice the silver band on my left hand reading "true love waits." As I sat in the living room and she made her lunch in the kitchen, she noticed my ring sitting on the microwave. She picked it up and looked at it without saying much. "Is this one of those.." she started but stopped. "Yep," I said without letting my eyes leave my computer screen, "it's a purity ring." "Oh," she said quietly then laid it back down. Nothing else was said about it. No body really ever brings up the silver band on my left hand. Do they think that I'm just dumb and don't realize I'm wearing a ring on my wedding ring finger? Or do the people who don't know me just assume that I am married? How are men supposed to know that I am single if my ring finger is already taken? What are your thoughts?

First of all, I think you're really brave for getting a purity ring when no one else around you practices abstinence. I think as long as you continue to be holy and good, then God will reward you with the perfect guy when the time is right. Don't be ashamed, be proud that you're following the Lord's word :) And think about it, your friend who's had a bunch of one-night-stands is never going to get her virginity back. So be proud!! :) I wish I had a purity ring, but I haven't gotten mine yet.

In Hebrews 13:4 it says that marriage is honorable in every way and in Romans it says do not conform to the ways of this world but continually renew your mind. So it might only b you who believes in sex after marriage but bilv me you not alone God is with you.

God loves you just the way you are and he always will!!! be proud of your decision and let people know that you are proud. show people that you are strong and stand up for what you believe in! dont let people bring them down! you posting this shows people that you are strong. i suggest that you go up to your friends and tell them exactly what you have posted. tell them how you feel and what you believe in. Tell them about Jesus, go and shout it from roof tops!!! tell everybody the good news that you have got, that God is alive and living in you. i dont know you but God does and he knows where your limit is. he knows how far you can push yourself. if you feel like you cant talk to your family about your thoughts, PRAY!!! your Father God in heaven will listen and he will always be there for you, YOU JUST NEED TO TRUST!!!
i learnt something the other day at church, that was that you cant just pray that you'll get something then BAM there it is. you need to TRUST in the LORD and he WILL give you everything you NEED according to his riches!!!!! Listen to these words!!!! trust, lord, will, need!!! keep telling yourself that the lord will give you everything you need. just trust in him, sit back and everything you need to full fill your purpose in life is right there infront of you. so if you trust in him, he will give you the right guy for you, one who is a christian and when he sees you and sees the ring, he wont turn around and leave you because he thinks your married, he'll come up to you anyway and be friends with you first, then he'll realise that you are not married and he will love you for who you are.

so..... PRAY like you have never prayed before!!!!!! pray when you wake up, when you go to bed, when you feel like giving up, when you are bored, when your friends are talking about their boyfriends (just pray quietly haha), every time of the day PRAY!!!

SHOUT FROM ROOF TOPS THE GOOD NEWS THAT YOU'VE GOT, GOD IS ALIVE AND LIVING IN YOU!!!!!!!!!!

TRUST in the LORD and he WILL give you EVERYTHING you NEED!!!!

dont change into what other people want you to be, stay the same because God loves you just the way you are!!!!!!!

I posted that because it basically applies here. Why where your ring for others? GOD sees it. GOD knows why. GOD is pleased with your decision. It doesn't matter what others think. If they ask, PROUDLY tell them. I have a purity ring and so do some of my friends. People don't guess that I'm married... except the occasional little kid... Mainly because I'm 14. But still. GOD is what matters. HE sees your heart and knows your intensions. Being embarrassed by that means you're embarrassed by God and your faith. Not good. And not a wise choice.

I would think people would know just by the fact that it doesnt have a diamond on it that shes not engaged, but im not sure. sorry i dont have much advice!! :(
