In the past year, I have lost my dad and my grandma (who lived with us for eight years) suddenly and very unexpectedly. My search for answers as to what happens after death brought me closer to God. But I still wonder...personally, the moment you close your eyes and your heart stops, what do you believe will happen? Of course you (well hopefully) will go to heaven but how do you think this happens? Do you just wake up at the gates or do angels come to get you. After many hours of research, I found that there are so many different perspectives as to what happens to you when it's over. So comment and tell me what you think!

Comment by Chelsea Valentine on October 31, 2012 at 2:24pm I agrre that we will never truely understand it all untill it comes. I think I might have something that could possibly shed some light on your dreams situation. Again, I don't know for sure. This is another thing I, personally, believe. I do'nt remeber exactly where it is in The Bible, but do you know the story of the rich man and the poor man? The story goes somewhat like this: "There was a rich man and a poor man who lived in the same town. The poor man would sit under the rich man's table, living off of the crumbs he dropped. The rich man never even tried to help or give anything to the poor man. One day they both died very suddenly. The poor man was gathered into Abrahams arms and the rich man was sent down to The Depths. (notice it doesn't say specifically Heaven And Hell.)" I can't remember who was speaking, but somehow "the rich man learned that his fate was eternal punishment because of the way he had lived his life. He begged to be able to go and warn his sons so they would not have to suffer the same fate as himself." Now why would he ask to do such a thing if he thought it could not be done or if he had never heard of it? Maybe it is possible to "visit" people. I don't know. Possibly your grandmother was seaking closure. The Holy Spirit is also known to use your subconsious (dreams) to figure things out and provide closure.
Comment by Amanda Green on October 31, 2012 at 12:46pm Well after my grandma died I had dream after dream where she would be there then dissolve and i would wake up screaming....one night i had a dream where she was sitting next to this woman not talking..then i asked, "can you hear me when I talk to you?" the woman next to her answered for her and said "yes she can hear you." and I just sat there and sighed and just sat there with her...then after about six months of these dreams with her...I dreamt that she was in the basketball gym with other people and I walked up to her (the other people dissolved) and i sat down next to her on the bleachers. I said, " you know I love you right???" She said, "yes honey I know." and I said , "you know I don't want you to go right," and she looked at me and said, "I know, but I have to." and I sat there and looked around with a sigh again then looked at her and she smiled. Then I got up and said, "Goodbye Grandma." and I walked away then woke up. I haven't dreamt about her since. and after reading books about dealing with death, people have described having dreams just like these then them suddenly ending....so I was wondering if maybe we stick around until we really get a chance to say goodbye because the way she went was real tragic. I don't know. I'm just another girl trying to make sense of death. :/ I guess we won't know until the day comes that we get to go be with our Lord and Savior!
Comment by Chelsea Valentine on October 31, 2012 at 11:31am I have always been curious about life after death, having lost close family members myself, and my friend really brought it into perspective for me. Now there is alot of debate about spirits and when or how they get to heaven. My friend brought up the point that, first of all, God is outside of time. The Bible says in Philippians 3:21 and 2 Corinthians 3:18 that when we die, Christ transforms our earthly bodies into His likeness. We will have new and heavenly bodies. Now what if these new bodies we have are also outside of time? It plainly states that we will be made into His likeness. This is my friend's theory: (Now I'm not saying this is the way it is. This is just a way to think about it. Because obviously I can't fully understand God's plan and design.) When we die, we instantly become outside of time. So it's pretty much like timetravel, if you will. Judgement day is here. Everyone is there because God has come. But to us, it's still today. To the deseaced, we are there with them at judgement because they "timetraveled". So When someone dies, essentially, they "timetravel" to judgement day where everyone is judged and the Revelation is fulfilled I'm honestly not sure if any of that makes sense because it is a very difficult concept to grasp, but I really hope it helps you begin to possibly understand.
Comment by Sarah R. on October 27, 2012 at 8:29pm idk,,, maybe we will wait ernestly at the crystal sea by the throne of GOD for the coming of the LORD or be tranferred into heaven and wait for the New Jerusalem there, idk... but it's awesome and worth it.
